Post-doc position in an Opus 25 project nr 2023/49/B/ST8/03265

Requirements:

  • A doctoral degree in the field of materials engineering or related fields, obtained no earlier than 7 years ago (this period may be extended by the duration of maternity, parental leaves, or long-term inability to work due to illness).
  • A research profile corresponding to the research conducted at the Department of Functional Materials Engineering and in the Opus-25 project no. 2023/49/B/ST8/03265, funded by the National Science Centre.
  • Scientific achievements confirmed by publications in reputable scientific journals.
  • Experience in research on the properties of high-temperature materials, including ceramic and metallic materials.
  • Ability to work in an international team.
  • Good organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Fluent communication in English (at least at B2 level).

Job Description:
The responsibilities of the employed person will include, among others:

  • Developing a method for electrospinning polymer and ceramic fibers for use in high-temperature fuel cells.
  • Determining the properties of the produced polymer and ceramic fibers: fiber size, porosity, functional properties.
  • Collaborating with the Institute of Power Engineering (IEn) to apply the produced fibers in IEn's production stacks.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and scientific publications.

Employment Conditions:

  • Employment in the form of a full-time employment contract (maximum 24 months) in the project "Alternative to alloying: advanced protective coatings for low-cost alloys for solid oxide cell stack technology", nr 2023/49/B/ST8/03265, financed by OPUS 25 NCN competition.
  • First date of employment: 1.10.2024.
